Katherine will topline the battle-of-the-sexes romantic comedy for Lakeshore Entertainment. The film reunites the "Legally Blonde" team of helmer Robert Luketic and writers Karen McCullah Lutz and Kirsten Smith and Lakeshore's Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi are producing alongside Steve Reuther.

The story centers on a romantically challenged morning show producer (Katie) who is reluctantly embroiled by her chauvinistic correspondent (Butler) in a series of outrageous tests to prove his theories on relationships and help her find love. His clever ploys, however, lead to an unexpected result.

Since the Grey's Anatomy cast has been away from the set for months, some of her co-stars use this opportunity to congratulate Katherine on her big-screen success.

Justin Chambers, the actor who plays Katherine's former flame Dr. Alex Karev on the show, shares what it's like to act alongside this "it" girl. "Katherine Heigl, you rock," he says. "You are a gifted actress, and I am very happy that we get to work together."

Katherine may be blessed with movie-star looks, but according to Justin, she's just as beautiful on the inside. "I laugh thinking about her," he says. "She burps like a truck driver, for such a lovely lady, which is kind of cool. And she always says, 'Excuse me' after she burps, which is even cooler. She's got a big, big heart, and she's very talented. I learn from watching her."

T.R. Knight isn't just Katherine's co-star—he's such a close friend, Josh asked him to be a groomsman in their wedding. As a special surprise, T.R. penned a song for his friend, Katie.

Actress Katherine Heigl will be bringing ‘Lost & Found’ to the bring screen after securing the film rights to the bestselling dramatic novel.

Though it’s not as yet known whether Heigl will star in the movie, she will be producing it along with her mother and producing partner Nancy Heigl through her new production banner Abishag.

The book, by Jacqueline Sheehan, is based on a widowed psychologist who moves to a remote Maine island and works in an animal hospital after her husband dies, reports Variety.

The tome has been published by HarperCollins imprint Avon A.

Heigl, who won an Emmy this year for her role as Dr. Izzie Stevens on "Grey's Anatomy" is also attached to star in Fox 2000 romantic laffer "27 Dresses."

A very busy Katherine was hard at work promoting her new movie 27 Dresses in New York on January 17th with guest appearances on The Today Show, Live! with Regis & Kelly and taping the Martha Stewart Show. She also recorded a radio interview with Ryan Seacrest for 102.7 KIIS FM. Returning to the Ritz Carlton hotel after such a hectic day she still found time for her fans and returned some signed pictures to Radioman. Later that evening Katherine was spotted returning to the hotel by the cameras and with snow falling three doormen with umbrellas kindly kept her dry as she entered the building.

At the recent press junket for her movie 27 Dresses, Katherine sat down with the Los Angeles Times to chat about life, the new film and to discuss the perception that she is "outspoken" in a town that is notorious for masking reality:

The actress gets cast as goddesses of various kinds. But in this put-the-best-face-on-it town, that's not the only thing she's known for.

"OH, man, I'm tired," Katherine Heigl said.

She laughed. It was 9 a.m. on a recent Saturday morning and Heigl was wearing a full-length red Oscar De La Renta dress, black shawl over the shoulders. Her hair was blown out, face fully made up. This week very much promised to be busy -- and all about her. She was getting married in a few days to singer Josh Kelley -- a destination wedding on her property in Utah. She was still deflecting comments she made in the January issue of Vanity Fair. And she had her first big starring role in a movie to promote.

For now, Heigl was sitting under a heat lamp outside at the Four Seasons Hotel, smoking and drinking a pot of coffee with Splenda before heading back upstairs to her "holding suite" before a day's worth of promotion for her new movie, the romantic comedy "27 Dresses."

"I'm not a workaholic," she insisted. "I'm not. I'm the laziest person I know."

It was hard to believe this, coming from someone in De La Renta at 9 in the morning. Still, this self-effacing confession is in keeping with Heigl's growing reputation as being unusually frank, her comments coming in somewhere between Dorothy Parker-tough and diva-spoiled.

"Outspoken," people call her, although it could also just be said that she speaks. Jane Fonda in Vietnam was outspoken; Heigl in Hollywood, calling the character she played in "Knocked Up" a shrew, is merely being forthright.

"The press or the media has decided that I'm outspoken, and I guess that's my angle or something?" she asks. "I have been this way for the last five to seven years when I started saying, 'You know, screw it, I'm not going to pussyfoot around issues anymore.' I kind of say what I think. And if I feel passionately about something I will be honest about it, and I don't think there's anything wrong with that..."

It couldn't have been more romantic — the sun setting over the Rocky Mountains, the dusting of snow on the ground, the gorgeous bride and handsome groom saying "I do" in a Christmas-themed ceremony before 80 of their closest friends and family. But, according to Katherine Heigl, the timing of her Dec. 23 wedding to musician Josh Kelley was initially a matter of necessity.

"I don't think either one of us was thinking a Christmas wedding," the Grey's Anatomy star explains in an exclusive interview in the new issue of OK!." Originally it was because I only get two weeks a year for my Christmas vacation... but then we really got excited about it."

So excited, in fact, that they chose to have their entire ceremony tied to the holiday. "We wanted to do it in a place that felt like a winter wonderland," Katherine tells OK! about their choice of Deer Valley in Utah, where Josh had vacationed with his family in his younger years. "We incorporated lots of big evergreens in the reception with twinkle lights and Christmas decorations."

The holiday theme also followed through in the food, where each guest received a basket of Christmas cookies, and traditional yuletide fare like goose and butternut squash soup was served at the reception.

So, now that they've said their vows, do they feel different? "We're elated!" Katherine tells OK!, before admitting that there will be some period of adjustment. "We have never lived together," she confesses, with Josh adding, "we don't even sleep in the same bed when family is around!"

However, instead of being nervous, Katherine sees this huge step as a sign of good things to come. "This new house means now we are in this together," the actress explains to OK!. "It means compromise on style, taste and how each one of us lives, how we don't like to live and how we're going to work it all out. It's going to be an amazing place to start our lives together and start a family."

Speaking of starting a family, any kids on the way? "I'd like to start talking children seriously in the next year," the 29-year-old beauty reveals to OK!, "but Josh feels more like two years, so we'll probably do a year and a half." And while Katherine tells OK! she'd like to have a big family — five or six children — Josh, 27, who was raised as one of six kids, says, "My view is, let's take it one day and one child at a time!"

We've been following the lead up to this anticipated winter wedding, and it sounds like everything went off without a hitch today. Katherine walked down the aisle to a song written by Josh and they exchanged their vows (written themselves) in a tent outside the Stein Eriksen Lodge in Park City, Utah.

The richly deserved nomination was in the category of "Best Performance By An Actress In A Supporting Role In A Series, Mini-Series Or Motion Picture Made For Television" for her portrayal of Dr. Isobel "Izzie" Stevens on Grey's Anatomy. Katherine was nominated in the same category last year for the same role.

On the Mormon influence in her family’s life before her brother’s death: “A couple of Mormon families were a great comfort [after the death of her brother when Heigl was 7 years old]. Both my parents felt a great desire for answers, and they found an answer in the Mormon church—or answers they could live with, anyway, because there really are none. I didn’t really understand death, so it was very confusing for me. The worst part was watching the devastation of my family. They weren’t the same people anymore. Everything was kind of a mess for a while. It wasn’t like Ordinary People, where it destroyed that family so badly that there was never finding any joy or loving or appreciating being alive again. But I give my parents unbelievable credit for pulling it together, and I give the Mormon church a lot of credit for helping them to do that.”

On Gizzie, the relationship between her Grey’s character Izzie and George (T.R. Knight): “That was kind of a big change for Izzie, wasn’t it, after she was so up on her moral high ground. They really hurt somebody, and they didn’t seem to be taking a lot of responsibility for it. I have a really hard time with that kind of thing. I’m maybe a little too black-and-white about it. I don’t really know Izzie very well right now. She’s changed a lot. I’m trying to figure her out and keep her real… It was a ratings ploy. It was absolutely something that shocked people; it wasn’t predictable, and people didn’t see it coming. It’s our fourth season; there’s not a lot of spontaneity left. And business is business; I understand that, but I want there to be some cooperation between the business end and the creative end, so there’s some way of keeping it real.”

On her old-fashioned values: “I … didn’t want to live together before we were married. I still have enough Mormon in me—not a lot, but enough—that I wanted to keep that a little bit sacred.”

On having a hard time loving her summer film Knocked Up:“[The film was] a little sexist. It paints the women as shrews, as humorless and uptight, and it paints the men as lovable, goofy, fun-loving guys. It exaggerated the characters, and I had a hard time with it, on some days. I’m playing such a b—-; why is she being such a killjoy? Why is this how you’re portraying women? Ninety-eight percent of the time it was an amazing experience, but it was hard for me to love the movie.”

On her close relationship with her mother: “I talk to my mother every day, and I’ve always felt the need to defend or excuse my relationship with my mother. The men in my life can feel, I should be more important in your life than your mother. A lot of men would have problems with that relationship, but Josh is unbelievably mature. He’s really wise and really grounded. He was the first man in my life I could go to with a problem and feel confident that he would help me find a solution. For my mother, Josh is a relief, because at the end of the day, any good parent wants you to be happy, and Josh makes me happy. I laugh a lot more. I’m not as stressed out. My burden is lightened.”

On finding happiness: “As women, we have more of a tendency to be people-pleasers, and I know a lot of women who are not vocal about what makes them happy. I was like that in my early 20s, but not anymore. I spent a lot of time not being clear about who I was and what was important to me. It’s easy to be taken advantage of if you’re not honest. I knew that dance of trying to please a man, trying to guess what they want you to be, and I got really tired of that, really confused and frustrated. I decided I was sick of trying to figure out what everybody else wanted, and I should just decide what I want, and be honest, and not spend all my time guessing. Josh is the first serious relationship I’ve ever had where I was like, This is me. From the moment I met him, I said, This is what I want and what I need.”

On going and picking out the diamond for her ring with singer-songwriter-fiance Josh Kelley: “I’m not really a first-move kind of gal. I’m one of those women who always thinks it’s better to play it cool and keep them wanting more, but I really threw myself at him. I broke all the rules.”

On not being the most confident about tying the knot: “[I don’t have any] grand illusions about marriage. I think it’s a crapshoot. The odds are really bad, especially in this town. But I have a lot of faith in Josh, and I wanted to have that one day when I stand in front of my friends and my family and honor him and how important he is in my life. My career is really important to me, but there have to be other great, important things in your life besides work.”

Katherine Acquires Film Rights
Katherine has purchased the film rights to Jacqueline Sheehan's best selling novel Lost and Found which will be produced by under the banner of her new production company Abishag.
The drama, written by Jacqueline Sheehan, tells the story of a psychologist who heads to a quiet island off the coast of Maine to work in an animal hospital after her husband dies. Katherine contacted the author's agent after reading the book and the deal was struck.
The film would represent a second project for Katherine's company which she recently formed with her mother Nancy. Abishag is already set to produce an action comedy with Spyglass, Nash Entertainment and Fox 2000 in which she will also star

She won Outsanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her role of Dr Isobel 'Izzie' Stevens in Grey's Anatomy. YAY !!!!!!!!!!
Katherine looked AMAZING in that white Zac Posen. She used all of her jewellery from Ryan Ryan, who designed her engagement ring and a minaudiere from Mary Norton. Very classy, with almost no make up on her eyes and those elegant red lips and nails, and that hair ! OMG... i couldn't see her shoes, im sure they were amazing.
